  • I recently received an email from my husband's Uncle, a retired Dr.  I found it to be very disturbing.  It was a link to a website with a video regarding a single instance of an individual from Ontario, Canada.

    Here is the link:  http://www.freemarketcure.com/brainsurgery.php

If they "outlaw" privatized health care in this country, you are going to see more instances of people dying needlessly.  There are opportunities for "free" healthcare for kids and I'm pretty sure that some adults also qualify to have this option.  I'll have to more carefully research that for myself.

If your children do not qualify for medical assistance, they are eligible for very reduced rates for full coverage under CHIP programs.

There are some that although eligible for free or low cost insurance won't go for healthcare because of a lack of trust in the medical community, mental health issues or fill in the blank with an issue.

I don't want my right to choose a Doctor taken away from me.  I don't want to have to wait any longer than I already have to in order to get a gyn exam or a mammogram.  Nope.

  • the whole health care model is so broken it needs to be cast aside and retooled from the beginning. there's so much wrong with it.

  • Yup.  What he said.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but something has to be done.  Costs are waaaay too high.  Insurance is too high. You're screwed no matter what end you're on, unless you have bags of money.  My stepmom had leukemia for 6 months before it killed her.  Her entire bill for those six months of over $750,000... that's fucking ridiculous!  Who can afford that?  (especially with insurance companies that only pay 80%!)  Fortunately, my stepmom had supplemental cancer insurance... so my dad wasn't left with bills.  But what if she hadn't?
