  • When I last spoke to her, before the current radio silence, she was pretty jazzed. She was on the bus headed for the base and was telling me about the people she was on the bus and plane with. She'd only known them for a few hours and she was already making friends. So unlike her Father and I. lol It's been so wierd washing and packing up her civilian clothing. She told me that she will more than likely not fit into any of it after she comes back, so I should put it in the Planet Earth bins. *sigh*

George has been busy as a beaver claiming his new room, lol.  Emma told him he could move into her penthouse while she's gone.  She had packed up some of her stuff into boxes, but a lot of the other extraneous stuff was still strewn about in Emma style.  I'm thinking this is one habit she will have to lose while in the military, lol.

Ernie has been transfixed with reading about the various phases of early training on the http://www.goarmy.com website.  Chase says he sorta misses her when I ask him.  I don't know if he misses getting called 'dumbass'.  lol

  • I admit I've not been around in awhile, but what does she want to do once she's out of the service?

  • @silentbill1814 -  That's where this whole adventure started, lol.  She didn't know what she wanted to do when she got out of High School.  She decided that joining the  Army would give her some direction.  Her MOS is PsyOps, or Psychological Operations.

  • LOL... I know that feeling.. was in a similar position when I left the service...

Employment Agency: "What are your skills"
    Me: "I'm an explosives expert..."

    ...

  • @Someone - So they set you up as a gas station attendant? j/k!

  • @weasle3 -

ROFL... yeah, that'd've been fun... no.. they seriously suggested PA for an international trader... wasn't really in the mood to wear high heels and fishnets, though...

  • Well... she's probably right about the clothes...

    Dumbass... sibling love, eh?    :p

  • I love reading about this portion of your life. I am living at Lackland AFB, which most know is the Basic Training base for all of the Air Force. Many tech schools are here too. Anyway to get back to my train of thought. I have two neighbors that are T.I.'s. That is short for Training Instructors. You daughter will inform you about the TI's. One is Air Force and one is Army. They are so funny, and they do really care about their troops. Just hearing the conversations about their trainees tell me that they really care about them. Although they can be quite hard on them, it is for the benefit of the trainee that they are so tough. Many different cultures come through here, and they are trying to help them better fit in with the military lifestyle. It is a whole new different world in the military. I know that your daughter will do well. She is your child right, and what I have read here about you is that you are a strong and wonderful person. I can see that your daughter will do well. Don't worry Mom you will be so proud on graduation day from Basic!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah and about the clothes, they probaly will not fit, she will be leaner and meaner!!! They walk everywhere and if they are not walking they are running.

    Love

    Janet

  • What nice tunes! You all sound busy as beavers over there.
