  • Flower show pictures~!

Ok, I finally have some flowershow pictures to show you.  They could be better but my camera isn't so quick on the rebound after I take a picture.  I need to get a better camera for sure!  This one has been great for learning the basics of digital photography, but I want or need something better...

Please forgive me if I don't have the names of the flowers and plants.  I usually like to get them and keep track of them.  I was trying to keep up with my friend and we also had someone with us that was handicapped and I was looking out for her also.  These were sooo blue in person!  The floral aroma and fresh smell of plants and dirt was everywhere!!!  It was soooo awesome!

And after it was all said and done, we went across the street to the Reading Terminal and had a wonderful midafternoon lunch!  Mexican!  It were yummmmay!!

Here's where we got our food....

  • I'm looking forward to this week.  I will be going to the Philadelphia Flower Show.  I've only been one other time and it was incredible!!  So much life and greenery!  This years will be a Celtic themed show.  And you can bet I am going to soooo hit the seed booths and see what I can pick up.    New batteries for the camera and I'll be set!

Next Saturday night we'll be going to see The Tartan Terrors.  They put on such a great show.  Comedy, music and dance.  It's all good!!  www.tartanterrors.com

Of course there will be pictures!

  • Last night while at work we were talking about MRI's and how the whole enclosed experience is pretty claustrophobic.  I was saying about how the guy that was doing the MRI kept trying to talk to me and ask me how I was doing.  I kept thinking to myself I wish he would just hurry the hell up and get this done!  lol

Well, this morning on my way home I decided to treat myself to a Breve at the drive-thru coffee wagon.  Ah!  just what the nurse ordered. I was cold after having cleaned ice and snow off of my truck.  As I was pulling away and headed out into the main flow of traffic I found that my wheels were spinning and I wasn't going to be able to pull out safely without possibly getting hit by an oncoming car.  So, I stopped, put my truck in reverse and back up into someone's car.  The guy that did my MRI!  ARGGGGHHH!!!!

Luckily no damage at all to my truck, his car ended up with a cracked grill, looked like some kind of plastic the way it had cracked.

I'm going to start walking everywhere!!!!!

  • An open letter to my daughters friends.....

Ok, guys and gals, you have to stop texting Emma everytime you fart.  It's costing me an amazing amount of money for the past several months.

You can call her, she has ears, she can hear you when you speak into the phone thingy.
She has a decent amount of minutes to use for that.  Not unlimited so this is something I would reserve for something really important like Ed getting an unmentionable part of his body pierced or something like that.

email is free too.  I suggest you use that a hell of a lot more  Unless you would like to chip in for the over  150 dollars a month that we have been shelling out .  That's a hell of a lot of dosh and to be freaking honest I could be spending it on things that we actually need instead.

Mailing a letter is 39 cents first class,  unlimited number of characters, fonts and you can even make a butt print if you want on the paper, add sparkles or spray perfume in it before you put it in the envelope to mail it.

Ok.  Now I realize that Emma is as much at fault for texting everytime one of us does something to piss her off.  I'll be dealing with her on a private level for that one.

On our end we will do what we can to stop pissing her off.

    I think that's a fair request.  THANX!!

  • I'd write something but I don't really have a ton of stuff going on here.  The kids have had a lot of school off because of the cold and snow.  They have a day off tommorow for Presidents day and they are pretty jazzed about that.

Emma had a sebaceous cyst removed from her scalp, looked way bigger than it palpated. But she's happy because it's gone.  But she was sad because she lost her cell phone.  And since we had to replace a phone and since she is still under the two year contract we got hosed on buying a replacement phone. Over two-hundred bucks!  Ouch!  Guess I won't be getting a new camera anytime soon. :eyeroll:  And that is for a pretty basic phone with camera.  The phone she lost ( Sliver) I didn't even look at how much that would have run for me to replace.  She was depressed over her less than perfect replacement.  I explained that it was better than my cell and digital camera together and she should look at this as a character building experience.  C'est la vie!

Ernie had his lens replacement done last Monday and he is pretty much back to his usual activities.  I'm glad, I was feeling badly for him because of not having sight in both eyes must have been a real bitch.  Aside from having to put eyedrops in and having a day or two of being sore the whole event was a total success.   Now if we could only find as miraculous a cure for his Father, we would be really happy!!

FIL is doing as well as can be expected.  We have to give him really soft things to eat or puree things as he is starting to have real trouble with swallowing.  I have to sit with him and make sure he doesn't wolf his food down as is his way.  He is fine as long as he takes his time.  He can still manage regular liquids pretty well at this time.  I can get Thick-It at our local Rite-aid if I need to start thickening his liquids.  He sounds as if he has some tracheal congestion and a sore throat right now.  His voice sounds deeper than normal.  No fever though, just a loose non-productive cough.  So we are keeping an eye on him.

Chase is doing ok, he really needs to be urged to not play video games with all of his free time.  Hard to resist them since they are so much fun!  He and George really helped out and shoveled snow this past week.  They did a fabulous job of it too.  George's cold is much better now.  The kids all have residual coughs, but that's all.  Nothing really holding them down.

I've just been taking things in.  I'm thinking about doing better with my spending habits and want to reward myself with a trip somewhere if I can control my spending.  Like put the money I would have spent on something into a bank account and do a long weekend somewhere I haven't been before.  I've also been helping my sweetie with his eBay listings.  That's fun for me.  I like to take pictures edit them and write the  text for the listing.  If only I could work up the same enthusiasm for my nurse's notes at work, lol.

Speaking of work, I have to go in tonight so I must close this open letter to the world.  Hope you are all doing well!

    Hugs and lots of love,

  • Yay!  All went well with dh's eye surgery.  We arrived on time at the hospital without getting lost.  The kids all got to school on time.  And remembered to take thier backpacks and eat breakfast.  lol  We have great kids!

And I got to take FIL to breakfast after dropping dh off.  I got all my chores done for him too.  picking up the mail, giving fil his meds and feeding Special Ed his bottle.  I think that was my favorite part.  That lamb is so damn cute!!

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes.

  • Two parts...

    Part one....

My dark and dismal hubby is entering into his everything is hopeless spin. He is having eye surgery on Monday. Of course he is convinced that no one is going to be able to do anything without him being there to get them ready. Emma is 16 and able to get herself going. I am going to be off Sunday night so I'll be home to drive Ernie to the hospital and take his Dad with us so he won't be home alone. We have cell phones so we can call and make sure that Buster and Poindexter get their fine heinies on the bus on time.

See, easily managed. But he is always set for nothing working right. I know he is secretly convinced that he'll end up blind in one eye this time. He has such faith in things! Arrrgh! But he's driving me crazy, I'm ready to pop him one!   Well, not really but I sure wish he'd lighten up.  (Hello pot, this is the kettle calling......)

    Part Zwei....

I was tagged again by my dear Maggie   to blog three things that I am thankful for.

    1. My hubby is in pretty decent health and that makes me happy.  I would be devastated to find out otherwise.

    2.  My life is good.  That is to say, I have pretty much everything I could need or want.  This is good!

    3.  My three kids.  I still can't believe that I was blessed with such great kids.  Healthy, intelligent and not mean spirited.

I'll let anyone that wants to be tagged go ahead and blog their blessings.

Hugs and I am also thankful that I have folks out there that are so cool!
