  • Delta Epsilon Phi

Today after getting the mail and seeing a letter from my daughter's high school, I thought "Oh boy, NOW what?"  lol  I never do know with this child what will hit the fan unexpectedly.  Although the last year or so has been without too much incident.  Happily.

Today we received a letter that my daughter Emma is being inducted into the Delta Epsilon Phi Honor Society for excellence in the German language.  Not too shabby!!

I only wish that the rest of her subjects were getting those kind of honors.  But I am really pleased that in general she is making more of the grades that she is capable.  Honestly though, she could do much better if she stopped being so picky about what is worth her time and attention.  She can be intellectually snobbish about school subjects.  Could be why I am losing hair?

Her life is really in a good place right now.  That I can happily say.

    Have a wonderful day!!

  • They do have to start defining their own way around this way, but don't it drive ya nuts?  I also remember Rosanne Barr saying "this is why animals eat their own young".  Ha.  Hang in there.

  • I like Emma.

  • Ha!  I think I was intellectually snobby, too.  My parents would call it something else, though... lazy.    :p   The truth of the matter was, if it didn't interest me then I had no use to learn it or know it.  And then there was math, that never made a lick of sense to whether I wanted it to or not.  (I have the same problem with poetry... for some reason, it goes in one ear & out the other, so to speak.  No "sticking" in the between...)

My 13.5 yr old nephew has the same issues, though he's doing better this year...

  • Typical of teens to only concentrate on what interests them.  Oh well, at least she's normal in that regard, lol.

Still if she's doing that well in German, that may very well serve her later in life.  Always good to know another language and it impresses the hell out of employers.

  • Congratulations to her! This too shall pass, in reference to the other stuff!

  • Good for Emma!!!!! Did you say high school?????????  You surely must be mistaken right, please tell it ain't so!!!!!!! She was just a baby the last time I saw her!!!! LOL

  • Kudos to Miss Emma
