Thanks for helping me through this!
As I think more about it I am amazed at how some people are content to remain that simple minded about new people and situations. Especially if they don't have a mental condition (I don't think anyway...) that precludes them from learning new things. That's scary that someone would choose to remain that way. I think that is part of why it upset me. How can you deal with something like that? Why would you want to remain that uneducated and narrow minded?

fear? Sometimes I wish I could blame things on being uneducated or narrow mindedness, or - in my case - a bad accent. And maybe I am all three, and am just to arrogant to notice. ~ ponders ~ can you tell I haven't had my coffee yet?
Fear keeps people from doing a lot of things that would greatly improve their lives, the most notable probably being learning a new way of thinking.
I guess fear could be a reason... maybe it is. I think a bigger reason is that it's just easier to remain ignorant. I personally don't get it, either, but I don't worry myself about it. Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke.
I like to think of myself as "eccentric", rather than weird.
Embrace your inner eccentric!
