If anyone has recieved a slew of emails from my email address I apologize.  I think that my account was hacked and I am working on alerting my internet provider.

I wish hackers would just get a real hobby instead of being assholes.

  • We went somewhere other than planned for our Anniversary feast, and it was a great call!

We both had filet mignon, I had mine with lump crabmeat (AWESOME!)My husband had the cream of portobello mushroom soup and I had a side salad with the house dressing.   I had a Michelob Ultra with lime and cactus, ok two of them (AWESOME) and for dessert my hubby had a slice of chocolate raspberry torte.  He said it was like eating a giant petit four. Very rich and not too sweet.  I had a peanutbutter chiffon chocolate brownie pie which I could not finish (AWESOME).  And since it was midweek we were nearly alone when we sat down at about 6:30 pm.

  • Som many things so little time...

The problem I mentioned in my last entry without actually mentioning the problem is pretty much solved.  It had to do with my professional credentials which at this time remain in good standing.  Yeah!!

    Also  25 years ago today.....

Doesn't that freaking rock!!!  I can't believe that we are actually celebrating our SILVER wedding anniversary.  It took and takes a lot of love, committment and work.  I still love him as much as I did 25 years ago today.    We are going out to dinner, just my honey and I.  We are going to go here http://www.siamsairishpub.com/

I got an awesome camera for a gift and will be assaulting Xanga with pictures, lol.

    What's new in your world?

  • My week has continued to get progressively worse.  I won't go into detail here, but needless to say I need a shit-load of prayer right now.

Last night we had 2 of the 5 ewes have lambs, both had twins.  One set of twins was still born and that poor ewe is bawling her heart out for her babies.

  • Thanks for the hugs for Chase.

We are continuing to re-inforce that he must not touch anyone at all in school.  He is to go immediately to the aide or teacher if he's being harrassed.  He is so bound by rules that he won't get out of his chair because unless he has permission he's not allowed to.  I told him that it would be ok in a case like this.

  • Nope, no more lambs yet, lol.  I just know it's keeping all of you awake at night.

In other news, Chase got himself a day off today for hitting a kid.  I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy.

So he's been doing dishes and a little laundry.  I'm going to have him help me bring a bench up to the deck later also.

Last night Emma and I took a walk and logged 2.5 miles.  I was proud of myself for being able to do it without hurting myself, lol.  It felt so nice to be out there walking. The sounds and smells of other peoples yards and the woods and the small brooks that run through.  Definitely smelled like spring.  In a great way.  I'm sore today but no pain no gain, right?

Anyways, gotta get back to making Chase work off his suspension.

    Ciao baby!

  • So still no more new lambs!  And with Ernie having a 3 day weekend to boot!

We still have 5 more ewes to give birth.  So that could be anywhere from 10-15 more lambs

In other news I got a lot of my neglected housework caught up on.  I feel better about that.  I just don't like not having my stuff done.  It was a wonderfully warmish day today.  I put my seedlings outside for a bit of much needed sun.  Got my front porch swept off and de-cobwebbed (is that a word?)

Grandpa went with me to the market and did very well.  Didn't tire out in the aisles.  I kept it a short trip and he seemed pleased as punch to get out of the house.  I got him a hershey bar for his troubles.

I'm going to try and post pictures of all the lambs in my photo area once they are all here.  Hopefully before my anniversary, lol.  I'd like to be able to plan to steal away for dinner with Ernie.

    Have an awesome day!!

  • No new lambs today.

I'm trying to at least make a short entry daily to force myself to remain somewhat literate.

Ernie is really enjoying his new job.  Word has it that they are considering keeping him once tax season is done with.  Which will probably mean a little more money and or benefits.  Woo Hoo!

I am possibly being considered as part of a team of nurses from our church to help give care to a woman with terminal cancer in her home.  She is still in the hospital at this point, but even just one or two shifts a week will be cool.  It will be a paid gig as well.  I'll ask that I can take weekends as that's when Ernie is home and can watch over GrandPa.  Keep that prospect in your prayers as being something that God wants me to do.

    Have a great day!

April 4, 2008

  • Quiet morning so far!  Yay!

I get to go get my nails done today, I look forward to that.  Once a month it's something just for me.

I take GrandPa with me and he watches all the stuff going on.  Then we will go for lunch.

    Have an awesome day!

  • Lambs to the left of me, lambs to the right...

Well, this morning Ernie had to pull a lamb from a ewe we were beginning to be concerned with.  Late yesterday afternoon he had given her an IM shot of antibiotic as her udder was getting red looking.  This morning he could see she was in obvious labor and having a time of it.  He pulled a lamb that was breech and still born, then he was there when the next lamb was born.  He came in and told me that while I was getting the weasles thier breakfasts.  Well, at least she had one live lamb and more than likely a huge milk supply.    He asked me to make sure the lamb was nursing and to strip her udders if need be.  I said Okeedokee Schmokie!

After all the weasles had left for school I was back out in the barn.  This was when I noticed that ewe #1 had a third lamb.  While I was drying him off , giving him his lamb strength and dipped his cord and his siblings cord I heard the sound of a very new lamb across the barn.  Seems that a ewe that wasn't expected to birth yet was doing just that.  Ewe #2 was cleaning off her lamb and almost immediately after I hear another ewe (ewe #3) breathing funny and lying almost on her side.  I try a few times to unsuccessfully check her.  I was wearing gloves so it was clean technique.  Come on, they give birth in the same place they go to the bathroom.  Anyhow...   I decided to just sit on a bucket and watch the two of them.  I was pretty sure that ewe #2 had at least one more lamb in the shoot.  Then ewe #3 made some noises and there was a nice sized ewe lamb, about 3 times the size of ewe #2's lamb.  At that point I put on clean gloves and checked ewe #2 and sure enough, there was a pair of feet. I got a hold of the two legs, which are as slippery as whale shite, and pulled out a lamb.  Right behind that one was another that I got a hold of and pulled that one too.  All this before 10 am!

I dried them off, did thier cords and gave them thier dose of lamb strength.  Then ran in the house and gave GrandPa his breakfast and meds.  I decided that I would let him sleep in.      Once he was squared away and watching t.v. with his eyes closed in his chair  I went back outside.

I needed to seperate ewe #1 from yesterdays lambs and thier mama.  I had to move a rather rambunctious ram to an outdoor pen.  Easier said than done.  So several blisters later I had Ewe #1 in her own pen with her babies.  Then they settled down to nurse.

I still need to shower, but rest assured GrandPa had his lunch, lol.  Ernie got home from work early today so we both had to laugh about how this of course happened this week and not last week when he wasn't working.
